Bars and seafood restaurants with a view of the sea spoil the walkers with excellent Canarias and international dishes.

LAS PALMAS
El Corte Ingles is a great shop with everything you can imagine in two buildings. You can also have lunch here, the food is excellent and not expensive. It is also fun to eat on the promenade of Playa de las Canteras. The main shopping promenade of Las Palmas is the Léon y Castillo and Mayor de Triana. You can ask a map from the city at various kiosks. If you want to take the bus to Las Palmas, you can take ‘line 30’ from Faro Maspalomas bus station. The much smaller shops are closed between 1 pm and 4 pm.

MELONERAS
If you love to shop, you should definitely go to Meloneras, where they sell exclusive brands. Here you will mainly find design stores such as Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana. It’s the paradise for shopping lovers!

EL TABLERO
El Tablero is the new shopping center. Here you can shop in 50 stores, including Timberland, Punto, Roma, Zara, Beautik and Levi’s.

C.C VARADERO
Shopping at the C.C Varadero shopping center is great. The shopping center is partly covered. There are numerous shops with electronics, clothing, shoes and perfume.

C.C OASIS BEACH
There is also an not covered shopping center named C.C Oasis Beach. Here you will find numerous beautiful shops, bars and a pharmacy.

There is a spruce shop on the golf course. In the tourist areas are Hyperdino (El Tablero Shopping Center) and Mercadona.

There are weekly markets in Gran Canaria

• The market in San Fernando/Playa del Ingles
  This is every Saturday and Wednesday from 8 am tot 2 pm in and around the market hall of San Fernando
• Market in Arguineguin
  This market is every Tuesday from 8 am to 2 pm along the harbor.

In Gran Canaria you will find restaurants for all tastes and every budget. There are restaurants with a slightly more expensive price list, traditional Canarian restaurants with delicious tapas and of course international restaurants.   

Local specialities served in the Canarian restaurants include ‘papas arrugadas, queso frito’ (fried and breaded goat’s cheese), chorizo and tortilla. It is also possible to enjoy with all your meals a local wine.

MEXICAN RESTAURANT EL CHACHO – YUMBO
For those wo like Mexican food, this is the ideal restaurant. Here you can eat well, and the restaurant is also nicely decorated and you are also super served. Really recommended! (There is a Dutch-speaking person in charge and also a Dutch card).

SAMSARA – MASPALOMAS
Asian Fusion restaurant. This is a top restaurant. Beautiful decor with Buddha’s, very soothing and romantic. The service and the food is really excellent here! It is located right next to the dunes of Maspalomas.

There are several good restaurants along the boulevard of Meloneras.

EATING IN THE HARBOR OF ARGUINEGUIN
Here you can eat fish at the harbor. The fish from Arguineguin is very well known. At the harbor there are several good and affordable restaurants.

LOPESAN MELONERAS GOLF
The Lopesan Meloneras Gold has an excellent location by the sea in the exclusive tourist zone of Costa Meloneras, in the south of Gran Canaria. The golf course, 18 holes par 71, is designed by the American Ron Kirby and is 52 000 m². It is a beautiful place where golf enthusiasts can fully enjoy their favorite sport thanks to the beautiful lakes, palm trees and the fantastic view.

MASPALOMAS GOLF
Maspalomas is the main tourist area of Gran Canaria, with spectacular beaches and most hours of sunshine per year.

Surrounded by the nature reserve Maspalomas Dunes, of more than 400 hectares, a sea view and palm grove form the horizon. The Maspalomas golf course, located in this paradise area, is surrounded by dunes. There are 18 holes.
